Join us on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 1pm at Jim Barnett Park in Winchester, VA, as we gather to remember Sari’s passion, dedication, and the lasting impact she made on our communities. Together, we’ll celebrate the success of the Winchester Meadow and the vision she set in motion that continues to flourish.
The Winchester Meadow—the city’s first pollinator-friendly native meadow—is a collaboration between Sustainability Matters and the Winchester Department of Parks and Recreation.
Planted in the spring of 2024, it has quickly become a vibrant oasis—supporting vital pollinator habitat, inspiring environmental learning, and hosting outdoor classes from painting to yoga.
More than a green space, the meadow invites us to rethink what beauty looks like—embracing native plants and their wild, life-giving energy as essential to a healthy community.
A Trex bench, generously donated by Trex will be dedicated in Sari’s honor at the center of the meadow, offering a place to pause and take in the landscape she envisioned years ago. The bench will be a wonderful addition to the existing Trex bench that was donated by the Glen Burnie Garden Club.
Come enjoy the beauty of the meadow in bloom, share memories, connect with friends, and help us continue to carry Sari’s vision forward. We hope to see you there.
