Growing Green: A Guide to Sustainable Landscaping at Home

Winterberry leaves and berries covered in light frost

Turfgrass lawns are America's #1 “crop”... yet they hold no ecological value whatsoever. Join Sustainability Matters’ Hannah Bement and native meadow expert Jack Monsted to learn how you can start growing pollinator-friendly native plants at home. We'll share an update on our Making Trash Bloom project, through which we plant native meadows at landfills, and teach you to plant your own native meadow, whether you have an acre of land or a single pot on your deck!

Micromeadows, potted perennials, small-scale native trees, and bushes are just a taste of the topics we'll cover. We’ll also discuss proper site preparation, selecting the right plants for your space and growing conditions, and how to start sowing your seeds this winter!

This will be a virtual workshop with time for Q & A. It's free, but space is limited, and registration is required.

Upon registering, you will be emailed a link to the online event page, through which you can access the Zoom webinar once the event starts. Please make sure you receive the link, and contact us if you have any questions. We cannot guarantee to be available for tech/Zoom problems on the day of the event, so we suggest registering well in advance!

We'll also sign you up for Sustainability Matters' email list. We never sell your info, and you may unsubscribe at any time.
