Monitor the growth at our Sustainability Matters Native Meadow.
1) Stand at the Meet the Meadow’s Wildflower sign and place your phone at the top of the sign.
2) Hold your phone directly above the arrow at the top of the sign, perpendicular to the ground.
3) Snap your photo horizontally to capture more of the meadow.
4) Email your photo to upload@sustainabilitymatters.earth
We need your help monitoring the growth of the Sustainability Matters Native Meadow located at Jim Barnett Park in Winchester, Virginia. As the seasons change and the meadow grows, we want to capture images of its transition. Take a photo while you visit, and we’ll add it to our time-lapse of the meadow’s growth.

Identify what’s
living in the
Winchester Meadow
Understanding what plants, insects, birds, and other life are found in the meadow lets us determine the health of this native ecosystem. By identifying and cataloging the different species, we can continually monitor the diversity of the meadow, an important health indicator. This is where you come in!
You can help by joining our Jim Barnett Park meadow project through iNaturalist and sharing what you found in the meadow. While you’re there, check out what others have found!
iNaturalist is a
community science
platform used by millions
of people throughout the world to catalog the biodiversity of species seen in our natural areas, from backyards to national parks.
